The date of the first church on this site but is certainly existed in 1331 as there is an account of the visit of Bishop Grandisson where the church is referred to as ‘sadly neglected’. A second building was erected in 1484 as a chapel of ease to Perranzabuloe, the only remaining part of this is the lower part of the bell tower.

The third and present Church was started in 1848 and dedicated on May 29th 1851, it consists of a nave, north and south aisles, porch and west tower with a spire. It was built by Piers St. Aubyn.
